MFI Magazine ‘The Jungle Book’ X LΛWSOFSTYLE – Season Staples

I was recently asked to be a part of MFI Magazine’s latest SS17 issue ‘The Jungle Book‘ and to contribute to this menswear Magazine that has taken Ireland by storm! My task was to go and carefully curate my own season staples that I felt you guys out there should keep an eye out on and definitely pick up to add to your wardrobe. My season staples comprise of some old classics that keep making a return season after season and some new truly welcomed pieces and trends that are everywhere on the runways. Without further ado here are the season staples that I picked.

Frosty Raincoat – Part of the H&M SS17 Studio Collection. This new collection is part of H&M collaboration with creative designers to give a fashion meets function on a range of pieces inspired by the  beauty of ballet and the sheer adrenaline of sports wear called athleisure-wear. The frosty raincoat can be seen across various brands such as W.W by Tinie Tempah, Its definitely going to be a huge trend in SS17. Piecing it with a brightly coloured sweater from H&M SS17 collection gives the raincoat a much needed pop of colour.

White cropped tracksuit bottoms– They are also part of the H&M Studio SS17 collection are a must have piece, that has also been featured in Tinie Tempah’s new brand and a few other brands on the runway. It’s a trend that’s here to stay! I pieced them with a turtle neck (roll neck), a biker leather jacket, a fedora and crisp white sneakers for that streetstyle look.

Green Fedora– The green Fedora  is  part of Anthony Peto’s collection and this piece is called  Capone Fedora- The Renowned French hat designer Anthony Peto has all your hat needs for SS17. The fedora is making a huge come back and will definitely be an essential for this season. It can be worn in a street style way or with a tailored look to give some edge to that classic look. This fedora comes in various colourways and styles with much smaller or medium brims.

Grey joggers- They are from Tommy Hilfiger and this look keeps the athleisure-wear trend going. The grey joggers are a comfy substitute for jeans or trousers, pieced with a bomber and multicoloured sweater brings together a cool relaxed look. The weekend bag can also double up as a  gym bag to take with you on the go!

White sneakers- They are by  Maison Margiela and these crisp white sneakers with a  futuristic design and silhouette are a must have. They work well with a streetstyle, tailored and athleisure-wear look. They epitomise versatility!

Biker Leather jacket– This piece is by BoohooMAN and their latest collection ‘MAN’, it’s a statement leather jacket with painted design on the back to pop on with any streetstyle look. Worn with the other items in this image to give that Parisian street style influence.

Camouflage jacket– This jacket I from Zara. Camouflage is a trend that is here to stay and Zara always deliver just that. They either come in the biker style or the safari jacket style. I love the safari style because it’s a different silhouette that works well with a grandad collar shirt and some cropped pants.

Sneakers– They are from Valentino and they are another statement sneakers that  you will definitely need statement to give you outfit a much needed pop of colour. These statement sneakers can be bought in Brown Thomas and they come in a variety of colours and they will work well with any outfit, from casual, to your athleisure-wear and if you are feeling adventurous even a tailored look.
