Collaborations

Specsavers x LΛWSOFSTYLE

Who remembers the first time they had to take a trip to the Optician because they were unfortunately cursed with having not so 20/20 vision, I do! I got my first pair of frames when I was 13 and each time I got my lenses and frames renewed I went for the same ugly basic style. To say they weren’t stylish is an understatement and for bespectacled gents like myself, sourcing the right pair of frames that fit your face and your tastes can seem like an unconquerable mission.

Thankfully, eyewear designers have really upped the game so you needn’t settle for outdated frames. From rectangular to round and tortoiseshell, freshen your view with new designs that are on offer in Specsavers. One brand that has upped the ante in designing stylish eyewear is Lyle and Scott’s and the brand’s new range of eyewear designs has made spectacles a quintessential stylish accessory, that I feel every guy should have as part of their wardrobe. Impeccably designed stylish frames can either come with lenses for people with 20/20 vision making them more of a style statement or for the likes of myself cursed with slight to severe eyesight problems prescription lenses, making them both a functional and stylish accessory.

Specsavers  have no shortage of brands on offer that have amazing frames, one of my favorites from their extensive range definitely has to be Lyle and Scott. The brand, which is exclusive to Specsavers, offers an extensive range of eyewear which come in various shapes, colours and designs. For my collaboration I chose my top four picks from the range on offer after a routine eye checkup with the Specsavers Optician who conducted various tests to see what prescription lenses I would need to have put into my frames.

The frames I picked are on trend and have been for while, like these clear frame glasses which I have to say are my absolute favourite! Paired with the Lyle and Scott pieces I was lucky to be gifted, I curated four great looks to complement each frame I picked to the pieces. I chose these looks and paired them with each frame to highlight the fact that glasses don’t have to be just functional, you can make them an essential style accessory to your wardrobe whether you need them or not.

Below are the four frames paired with each look.

Farr 1

– This look was definitely my favourite and the frames are definitely my absolute favourite from the collection. It’s a relaxed yet elegant look that’s perfect for a day out and about or travelling. The white coat sits well with the lambswool scarf, which gives a pop of colour to the look.

Alloa 11

– This look is great for day time or even a date. I went for a black aviator jacket with black jeans, black chelsea boots and an orange jumper to break up the look.

Busby 1

–  The Busby worked well with this office wear look and I loved the green detailing that I used as a base for this look. Layering is still key and this grey oxford shirt worked well with the green turtleneck underneath that matched with the frames.

Foyers

– The Foyers frames are perfect for this smart casual look. It’s still very much cold at the moment and layering is key. I pieced a blue turtle neck under the white polo and threw on a navy coat to keep the navy and white tones throughout the look.

All frames are from Specsavers‘ Lyle and Scott range. The white tipped polo shirt, oxford shirt, cotton merino wool crew neck jumper and lambswool scarf are by Lyle & Scott.
